Lawrence Logs Top-10 Finish at Heart O’ Texas With Texas Sprint Series

Inside Line Promotions – ELM MOTT, Texas (April 18, 2019) – Zane Lawrence recorded his first top-10 finish of the season last Friday during a Texas Sprint Series show at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.

Lawrence was scheduled to race that night with the Sprint Car Bandits Series, but the event was postponed because of the weather. The opportunity arose to jump back in the seat of the Bob Odom owned 305ci sprint car once again.

“I was excited to get back in the seat last weekend,” Lawrence said. “Bob and I have a pretty good schedule set for this season so hopefully we will see some success and wins.”

Lawrence started on the inside of the fourth row in a heat race. He worked his way into a lock-in spot to the feature before an on-track mishap cost him a couple of positions and he was relegated to the B Main.

“I was battling for third in the heat race and we were just racing hard and I got ran up the track and ended up going off the track in turns three and four,” he said. “I got back on track, but it cost us a spot in the A Main.”

Lawrence rallied to win a B Main and he started from the inside of the seventh row in the feature. He advanced several positions to finish eighth, marking his first top 10 of the season.

“The track was better in the feature,” he said. “We had two grooves around the track, which helped me pick up a couple of spots. Although we got behind early, we were able to rally to a top-10 finish.”

Lawrence’s next scheduled race will be this Saturday at Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas, with the Sprint Car Bandits Series.
