Freeman Set for Season-Opening Weekend at Heart O’ Texas and Kennedale
Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (March 9, 2015) – Cody Freeman will kick off the outdoor season this weekend after being delayed one week.
Freeman, who was unable to compete last weekend because parts for his micro sprint hadn’t arrived and been assembled in time, will race this Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, and Saturday at Kennedale Speedway Park in Kennedale, Texas.
“I’m really excited,” he said. “It’s been a long time of waiting and being patient. Now I finally get to race.”
Freeman competed at Heart O’ Texas only one time last season and he finished sixth.
“It’s a really different race track,” he said. “Heart O’ Texas has a lot of banking in the corners. It has banking like Talladega.”
Freeman also finished sixth during each of his two races at Kennedale Speedway Park last year.
“That’s just a long track,” he said. “It has some banking, but not near as much as Heart O’ Texas. It’s just really long.”
Freeman said his goal for the season-opening weekend is to earn a couple of top fives and to bring the car home in good condition.
