Baughman Facing Heart O’Texas and Devil’s Bowl Doubleheader This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – ODESSA, Texas (Aug. 12, 2014) – Josh Baughman will tackle a pair of ASCS races in his home state of Texas this weekend.

Baughman will compete with the ASCS Gulf South Region and ASCS Lone Star Region on Friday at Heart O’Texas Speedway in Waco before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite.

“I feel like we’re rolling good enough, there’s no reason we can’t win one or both nights,” he said. “I’m real confident going into this weekend. If we put a whole night together we can be up there racing for the win.”

Baughman drove his Jason Johnson Racing entry to his first victory of the season in the most recent ASCS Lone Star event a month ago and he hopes that success will carry over to this weekend, starting with the race at Heart O’Texas Speedway.

“It’s a real racy track,” he said. “Usually there’s a top and a bottom. You’ve got to be up on the wheel. That’s the kind of racing I like to do.”

Baughman has improved his result in each of the four races this season at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. His most recent race yielded his second career top 10 at the half-mile track.

“We’ve ran good there a couple of times,” he said. “We’re going to pull our notebook out and hopefully get us a win there for the first time.”
